AFREG 2 COVENANT—AN AGREEMENT FOR ACTION

Working in partnership as Africans and friends of Africa, we the participants of AFREG 2 covenant to

  • Demonstrate a positive attitude about our history and identity as Africans
  • Mentor the youth as leaders of today and the future
  • Share a common understanding and commitment to gender issues as relates to leadership
  • Continue a serious conversation on Theology of the State that will ensure mutually respectful and responsible partnership between church and state as servants of God in serving our nations
  • Speak up on genocide and other injustices as a kingdom community declaring that there is neither Jew nor Greek, male nor female, slave nor free
  • Engage with government leaders in a spirit of complementarity and affirmation while confronting issues of injustices, human dignity, good governance, corruption and the rule of law, seeking a realization of God’s purpose and hope for all peoples on the continent of Africa
  • Recognize and affirm the calling and ministry of Christians in the marketplace, particularly those in politics, and provide them with the same member care as those in “traditional missions,” supporting them in prayer, counseling and healing when they are wounded
