Excerpt from the Introduction
The leaders that will usher Africa into this new era need to be characterized by new mindsets, values, vision and competencies. This book is making a contribution to what aspects might beneficially characterize the new African leader, and what kind of change may bring about such new characteristics in reality. It is hoped that this work will encourage more discussion with regard to what it will take to transform Africa into a continent that is respected and responsible and indeed a role model as a member of the global community.
